If cutting heavy plate really do follow the advice and start with a low speed, I managed to snap the pilot drill by not doing this (my error), fortunately a standard M6 drill will replace it although it's about 2x the length. No ejector spring as shown in the display picture. Not that it really matters, they are usually too weak to work properly. I used it to cut 5mm acrylic sheet, went through like a dream, no breakout or cracking.
