Then they are easier to roll up for your gym bag. Color holds very well on Fairtex wraps also. They do last quite well for handwraps, and provide good support. They are not marked "this side down" but the seam at the thumb loop folds toward the body on every pair I have. I could not ask for a better pair of wraps! For me I don't like a lot of stretch like a lot of modern wraps have. These have perfect stretch not too much where I feel my wrist won't be secured and not too little where they are just uncomfortable. I wrap them up the "Thai Way" and my wrist is protected so perfectly. I don't put a lot of emphasis around the knuckles, only about 2-3 wraps around the knuckles on my hand. I've sprained my wrist hitting and bending my wrist in on itself before and these hold perfectly, securely and comfortably around the wrist. All this to say!
