Review: Value - Smooth as silk . Review: Exceptional spinning reel! - Fantastic spinning reel with features not commonly found at this price point. The first thing I will address is there are a couple different listings for the Tempo Apex spinning reel sold by Valcont on desertcart. For some reason, the listing this review will be attached to has only 2or 3 ratings and is only for a 4000 series size. Mine is a 3000 series and they are available in 1000-4000 sizes. Search "Tempo Apex" in desertcart and go to the listing with 200+ ratings for a proper choice of sizes and pricing. ...on to my review. I've include 6 pictures to highlight the amazing features and quality of this Tempo Apex Spinning Reel and they are numbered 1-6. #1- The spool has a unique silicone band and is braid ready. I always use a mono backing anyway as it is more cost effective, but the silicone makes for easier spooling start of mono as well. #2- The drag is sealed and protected by a large silicone seal on the back of the spool cover/drag adjusting cap. #3 - Line keeper on the spool is spring loaded metal instead of the typical plastic cap that snaps off from being brittle after a couple years. The back side and spring/keeper pin can be seen in picture 5. #4 - Spool is supported by its own sealed bearing! There is no wobbling of the spool on the shaft! Directly below the spool bearing, you can see another unique feature. Instead of a thin stamped gear for the spool clicker, The Apex has a thick metal cage that the beefy click pawl rides against. Heavy duty! #5- The machining of the spool is amazing! Heavy duty click pawl. Machined cup that the spool bearing rides in, spring loaded line keeper. This thing is built like a tank but is extremely light weight. #6- The crank handle is independent from the cap on the opposite side and the cap itself is machined metal and has a robust silicone seal. The typical reel has threads down the center of the shaft and the plastic cap has a corresponding "bolt" that threads into the crank handle. Because of the the plastic cap, which is prone to breakage, it is difficult to tighten the crank handle securely enough that it doesn't loosen up. Ever cracked your knuckles on your reel cuz the handle came loose and you didn't notice? I've only become aware of the Tempo brand recently but I now have 2 of their rods and this reel. They are all excellent. I have this Tempo Apex 3000 series mounted on a 6'6" Medium Light/Moderate Fast action Temp Sphera rod spooled with 10# braid/8# fluoro leader and it is superb for drop-shot, neko, and lighter jigs/swim baits but the reel could definitely handle tougher duty. 39# drag? I haven't tested but I believe it. The reel came well lubricated and everything functions perfectly. It actually felt "tight" to begin with but has loosened up with use. I could not be more pleased with the Tempo Apex spinning reel and the 2 Tempo Sphera rods I have now! ## Features - Lightweight - Tempo Apex fishing reel features a advanced magnesium alloy frame, combined with an aircraft-grade aluminum main shaft and gears, resulting in an extremely lightweight fishing reel that doesn't compromise on strength, greatly alleviates the pressure on your wrist during long hours of fishing, and easy to carry. - Superior Smoothness - With a 10+1 high quality ball bearing system that includes 4 well-known Japanese bearings, Tempo Apex spinning reel provide maximum smoothness during line retrieval and casting. You will get a smoother and more enjoyable fishing experience with less effort. - Powerful Drag - Tempo Apex fishing reels use premium carbon fiber washers that create a smooth and powerful drag system capable of producing 39 pounds of resistance to handle larger fish. The drag system is sealed, preventing water and dust from entering and prolonging the reel's lifespan. - Precision Components - The upgraded one-piece aluminum bail and optimized spool lip design reduce line tangles and wind knots, maximizing casting distance and smooth. The braid ready spool minimizes line slipping during retrieve, this allows for more flexible handling, faster response times. - Quality Guarantee - Tempo Apex spinning fishing reel is crafted with high quality materials and components by an experienced team. All Tempo fishing gear comes with a 1-year warranty and 30-day no-hassle return policy. Our customer support team is always available to assist you with any questions or concerns. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0BYP21RBK | | Brand | TEMPO | | Brand Name | TEMPO | | Color | silver | | Colour | silver | | Customer Reviews | 3.8 out of 5 stars 18 Reviews | | Fishing Line Type | Braided | | Fishing Technique | Spinning | | Fishing technique | Spinning | | Hand Orientation | Ambidextrous | | Hand orientation | Ambidextrous | | Item Weight | 0.36 Kilograms | | Item weight | 0.36 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | Tempo | | Material | Aluminum | | Material Type | Aluminum | | Other Special Features of the Product | Anti-Reverse | | Size | 2000 | ## Images ![Tempo Apex Spinning Reel, Ultralight Magnesium Body Fishing Reels with 10+1 BB, Carbon Fiber Max Drag 39 LBs, Smooth Fishing Reel with Aluminum Shaft and Handle for Bass Trout Catfish - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61JiUxikbRL.jpg) ![Tempo Apex Spinning Reel, Ultralight Magnesium Body Fishing Reels with 10+1 BB, Carbon Fiber Max Drag 39 LBs, Smooth Fishing Reel with Aluminum Shaft and Handle for Bass Trout Catfish - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61mrfgf+iUL.jpg) ![Tempo Apex Spinning Reel, Ultralight Magnesium Body Fishing Reels with 10+1 BB, Carbon Fiber Max Drag 39 LBs, Smooth Fishing Reel with Aluminum Shaft and Handle for Bass Trout Catfish - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61zWh2HNdqL.jpg) ![Tempo Apex Spinning Reel, Ultralight Magnesium Body Fishing Reels with 10+1 BB, Carbon Fiber Max Drag 39 LBs, Smooth Fishing Reel with Aluminum Shaft and Handle for Bass Trout Catfish - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61ttVbK1rqL.jpg) ![Tempo Apex Spinning Reel, Ultralight Magnesium Body Fishing Reels with 10+1 BB, Carbon Fiber Max Drag 39 LBs, Smooth Fishing Reel with Aluminum Shaft and Handle for Bass Trout Catfish - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/6164V7cOiHL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Value *by D***D on 14 April 2024* Smooth as silk . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional spinning reel! *by J***N on 30 April 2023* Fantastic spinning reel with features not commonly found at this price point.
