See info Below for a full description Suited for use with Moulds When to Use Gelcoat without wax ( cures Tacky) What is Gelcoat- We have been calling all products " Gelcoat " for years. When a boat or any product is made using a mould, we use traditional gelcoat , it doesn't have wax and is the first thing applied to a mould . The gelcoat is designed to stay TACKY. We then add re-enforcements to this tacky surface usually fibreglass. When the object is de moulded the Gelcoat is now the outer shiny layer. If we use this Gelcoat for repairs , guess what its going to cure Tacky. Repairs that require cure TOUCH DRY When to use Gelcoat Repair ( a.k.a. gelcoat + wax, Topcoat, Flo-coat) We take the same same GELCOAT and add 2% WAX. The wax floats to the surface and provides a skin allowing the original gelcoat to cure underneath. This wax allows the Gelcoat repair to cure touch dry. It is now suited for coatings and also repairing damage or renewing a gelcoat surface a boat hull for example. We call it Gelcoat repair, but its also called Topcoat or Flocoat.
