Both of these oils have exceptional shear/anti wear properties, but the high phosphorus content will foul catalytic converters over time. **Q: Might be a dumb question but is this oil synthetic? I don't see anything on it that says it is.** A: This oil is organic. The Valvoline 20W50 synthetic oil has a black label, and it clearly states "synthetic" on the label.
