Review: Really happy with it. - It is not too heavy to hold up when drilling smaller holes at awkward positions, quite light really. OK, it’s not the most powerful drill in the world, but if want to drill small holes you do not need a massive drill. So, for me, it was perfect for when I ddi not need my corded drill, and also far more convenient. No need for extension cables etc. It made very very light work of hammer drilling 4 5mm holes into an outside wall to mount 2 solar powered lights with PIR sensors so my balcony is lit up in the dark when I go onto it in the dark/winter. (Good quality masonry drill bits also helped a lot!) this is what bought it for. Then turn it from hammer drill down to power setting one, and it screwed the screws into the plugs without effort, without overdoing it. I could have paid someone to do the work, and not bought this, but that would have probably cost twice as much, and not left me with a nice little cordless drill. I will take it to work. It will probably spent the rest of its life undoing screws that hold bits of trim and the like onto cars. As a side note is is not brushless. Bought to do one job. And it did it effortlessly. The rest is a bonus. DOWNSIDE. I fully charged the battery on the day it arrived. I drilled 4 holes. To mount the lights mentioned, and then put it to one side for 4 days. I liked it so much I bought a second battery, so that I can just swop them at work, and carry on. Day 5 I went to use it and the battery was flat. After under 10 minutes of use on a fully charged battery. Put the second battery in, and it worked. So I plugged the flat battery into the charger, and ‘red flashing light’ on charger. IE battery defective. The battery that came with it, that I have had for under 10 days. Unplugged the charger and removed the battery, and tried again. Same result. The battery lasted under 10 days, and under 10 minutes of use. Put the spare battery into the charger, green light. Charger is working, drill is working. I know I only really bought it to do one job, and that it did that job. I did not expect the battery to only do that one job, and stop working almost instantly after it was done. I going to assume I received a defective battery in the case with the drill. So I put in a return request, and bought it again. Have paid for the second battery, and i did like the drill, lets hope i was just unlucky. Update: the second one arrived over a week ago, and has caused no problems. I got a full refund from desertcart for the first defective one.
Review: 4 Years On – Still Reliable and Gets the Job Done - Writing after 4 years of usage. It might not be the best one on the market, but it definitely does the job. I’ve done countless drilling and screwing tasks with it, and even used it to mix concrete. It has never failed me. The battery capacity/power is a bit small, I know, but as long as it has charge, it performs exactly as expected. Despite the heavy and sometimes not-so-gentle use over the years, it is still working perfectly fine. I’m still using it regularly for screwing jobs, and it hasn’t shown any signs of giving up. One thing worth mentioning is the chuck, the part where the drill bit is inserted and tightened by turning. Over time, it has become a bit loose, and I started experiencing this issue a while ago. Round-shank drill bits began to slip and get stripped, so I switched to hexagonal drill bits instead. Since then, I’ve continued using it without any problems, and the hex bits hold firmly with no slipping. This could be due to long-term wear or possibly my own heavy usage, so I can’t say for certain. That said, this doesn’t change the fact that it’s been a solid and reliable drill overall, and still a very good tool that continues to get the job done after years of use. Worth of money.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can I use in a concrete wall to fit a tv wall stand?**
A: Shouldn't have a problem. If the hole needed is more than say 7 or 8mm, it would be sensible to drill a 4mm hole first, then open it out with increasingly larger bits. For a 10mm hole start with a 3 or 4mm, then up to 7mm then then 10mm to finish. It keeps the drill stress free and achieves the end result. This isn't a DeWalt drill and B&D never intended it to be, but it's a very capable piece of DIY kit if used with a bit of the old 'common'

**Q: Does it come with charger?**
A: Yes it does

**Q: Does this drill come with drill bits for brick and wood? Or do you have to buy them separate ?**
A: Mine didn't come with any bits, I bought the B&D 32-piece drill set at the same time. That contains wood, metal and masonry bits

**Q: Used for first time and drill bit is stuck and drill is locked so need help**
A: You need to have someone grab the inner Chuck with pipe grips then take a hammer and a flat tip screwdriver and gently tap the ridges on the front piece of the chuck. It happened to me yesterday after using the hammer function. Hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A competent drill for lighter work
*by B***A on 28 November 2025*

Good battery life and is nice and compact, although not as powerful as I needed. Would recommend for lighter jobs around the house but not if you need to drill holes into strong materials.
