Internal thermostat says water is 83 degrees when it's not. Be sure you don't solely rely on the thermostat of this unit. You will kill your fish! Water is 78 degrees actual but unit thermostat says 83. That's a 5 degree different and 5 degrees could kill some fish. I would have a separate thermometer in the tank, 2 thermometers is you have a larger tank and have more then one of these units. I have a 75 gallon tank and ordered 2 of these units. One at each end, one unit says 83 degrees, other says 84 degrees but my water it 78 on one end, 78.8 on the other end. Be cautious and mindful with these internal thermometers. Way off! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works perfect! *by C***A on January 21, 2019* I bought this for my 55 gallon tank after my heater failed and my tank temp sunk to 63f. Not good in a tropical tank! It arrived the day after I purchased it and was VERY well packaged to prevent damage. I installed it in my tank and waited 15 minutes for it come to temp in my tank before plugging it in. Once it was plugged in, setting it was easy! I just aimed the remote at the heater through the front of my tank and held the button until the temp started flashing then I just pushed the button until I got the heater temp up to 76. After 5 seconds it stopped flashing and kicked on and started heating my tank. Within just a few hours it brought my tank back up to proper temp and has been maintaining it ever since. I love this heater! No more reaching into the water to adjust the thermostat. The water temp and the thermostat temp are very easy to read and you know exactly when it's heating because the red light is easy to see. The green light lets you know the heater is plugged in.I highly recommend this heater! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love the design of this and I had a problem ... *by M***Z on March 31, 2018* Love the design of this and I had a problem with the remote not working or so I thought, many encounter this, and the solution is to move the heater up to the front of the glass and change the settings with the remote from there. I have had it for just a few hours so can’t give a full review, but their customer service is great fast response.
