A must read if you are at all interested in being mindful. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You Will Learn So Much About How To Think! *by S***S on September 12, 2025* A Book On Clear Thinking! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great book, but a few issues *by R***F on August 16, 2025* I really enjoyed this book and it motivated me to get back to my meditation routine. The practical advice is clear. As a longtime reader of Buddhism, I also appreciated the sprinkling of Buddhist philosophy and principles. I’ll also say that as compared to some of the Buddhist “word salad” texts I’ve waded through, this is fairly clear and straightforward. (Buddhist teachings are not supposed to be easy, but they’re also not supposed to be impenetrable. This book hits the mark.)The author does have some writing “tics” that are annoying. If you’re a rhetoric purist, they may bother you as they did me.. The short-chapter format felt a little random and…not really lazy, but too easy and not in service to the reader. The transitions from chapter to chapter are rough or non-existent. The author has a habit of writing “pun intended” or “no pun intended” when there is no pun. (Maybe he doesn’t know what a pun is? An editor could have helped with things like this.) There are many sentences that are run-ons — one had 87 words and two digressions, and I had to reread it several times to get the gist. (Again…editor!) The introductory section (forward) is over-long, and the afterword is WAY too long and has a bunch of material that frankly could have just been included in the main text. I can overlook these minor flaws because the content is solid, but in some respects the book feels like it was cranked out without respect to flow.Finally, a note on the Kindle version: Paragraphs are randomly formatted. In some chapters, paragraphs are are flush left with a space between them, in other chapters they are spaced between and first tabbed except the first paragraph (?), in others the paragraphs are first-sentence-indented but no space between paragraphs. This is careless and distracting.
