Hair products containing long-chain alcohols such as lauryl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, & behenyl alcohol will moisturize, protect, & hydrate the hair while locking the moisture in. (The alcohol locks in the moisture) Bad Alcohols ( short-chain/drying) suck out the moisture leaving hair dry and frizzy. Short-chain alcohols are lighter and only have 3 carbon atoms. This leaves it unbalanced where long-chains have 22-26 carbon atoms. Short-chain alcohols evaporate quickly which is why they are used in hair & skin products. This product does contain alcohol however it's not drying and goes well with the product. I use it all the time and it doesn't dry out or damage my hair in anyway. **Q: How to make the spray work?. Mine doesn't work.** A: There's a collar on the neck of the spray bottle to keep it from spraying when you don't want it to (like in your luggage). Look for a quarter-circle-shaped tab on the collar and slide it to the side as far as it will go to open up the sprayer. Rotate the tab to right under the sprayer head to keep it closed. **Q: Is this ok for color treated hair?** A: I have color treated hair with highlights plus it’s very coarse and extremely curly and I love it.
