## Overview

The Stanwood Needlecraft Carbonized Patina 13" Single Point Bamboo Knitting Needles are crafted from premium carbonized hard Moso bamboo, offering a super smooth touch and 14 assorted sizes. With uniformly shaped needle points, these needles provide precision and comfort for all your knitting projects.

## Description

For sale is 14 pairs of 13" bamboo knitting needles with various sizes: US1 (2.25mm), US2 (2.75mm), US3 (3.25mm), US4 (3.50mm), US5 (3.75mm), US6 (4.00mm), US7 (4.50mm), US8 (5.00mm), US9 (5.50mm), US10 (6.00mm), US10.5 (6.50mm), US11 (8.00mm), US13 (9.00mm) and US15 (10.00mm). Needles are carbonized to enhance their strength and color (patina). Each size has 2 needles. Sizes in US and metric are permanently etched onto the needles by laser. These needles are first sanded super smooth using the finest sanding paper. They are then lightly hand rubbed with a thin layer of wax to improve the smoothness. While feeling super smooth, one can still sense the texture of bamboo. That makes them very different than lacquered needles. These needles do not have ripples (a common defect with a lot of mass produced needles). Needle points are uniformly shaped. Their smoothness, stiffness and overall quality can meet or beat any world class brands.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great quality and YES, they are long. It says it is.

These are really a great set of needles. They are very smooth, even and easy to work with. I personally love them. I don't like how metal feels and for whatever reason, using a metal needle is more difficult for me.All that said, if you are an inexperienced knitter, the smaller sized needles may not work well for you. They are quite flexible and it will take an experienced and gentle hand to knit with the smaller ones. I myself am an inexperienced knitter and there is no way I could use the smaller ones. On the other hand, being new, I wouldn't want to knit anything that fine to begin with. The reason it only gets 4-stars however is that the imprint of the needle size is very faint and many times illegible. I would have preferred the ends of the needle to be stamped and perhaps color coded for easier and faster matching. I solved the latter issue by applying my own paint on the ends. As for sizing, I do have a needle size chart that came in a

beginners package

I bought, so that is a good back up. Anyway, in their defense, these issues are minor. I would prefer cheaper over the better size stamp and colored ends. It's just worth noting is all. Finally, I get really annoyed when I see people who rate something low after making their own ordering mistake. Several reviewers have complained that they are too long. It says right there at the top that they are 13" needles. Yes, they are long. You shouldn't have bought them since they were that long. Don't blame them for your mistake. All in all I would definitely recommend these, along with the smaller sized needle disclaimer.

    Excellent for the price!

I was so excited to find these needles on Amazon. I just began knitting and had my mom's old metal needles but I kept dropping stitches and was really struggling. I kept going to craft stores with my 40%-50% off coupons but they never sold bamboo needles in a set and I could never decide which size to buy (I am new to this and had no idea what was the most common size that was used)so I never bought any.I started using these the day I got them. I love them. The only reason I give them 4 out of 5 stars is because the end keeps catching on my yarn as I'm knitting and because one of my size 7 needles is bent. I was a little bummed when I noticed that. I haven't checked the other needles. I hope they're not bent like the one's I'm using are.But again, they're still excellent for the price. I would highly recommend this for any beginner trying to build up their collection. Even with the bent one, I still love them.

    Love 'em!

I love these needles! I have been knitting on aluminum needles for many years and just last week decided I would give the bamboo a try. Not knowing whether I would like them or not, I decided not to purchase the most expensive ones out there. I saw this set on Amazon and decided they would be a good start for me. I love them! They are so much lighter than my old aluminum ones and much easier to work with. They are light, smooth and seem to be well made. I can't imagine that the expensive ones out there would be any better. So glad I decided to try bamboo!UPDATE: I still like these needles, but have discovered that some of them are slightly bent and not exactly straight ... doesn't affect my knitting, but I would have liked them to be all straight. I have also bought a pair of the Harmony needles from knitpicks and they are wonderful! They have more of a point on the end than these needles, but they are also quite a bit more $$.SECOND UPDATE: I have now reduced my rating on these needles to 2 stars. Not only are most of the needles warped, some of them also have splintering at the tips and fray the yarn and make it impossible to knit with them. I guess you really do get what you pay for. Going to forget these and continue collecting Harmony needles in the sizes I want.
