## Description

The quiet and powerful Westinghouse iGen12000DFc portable inverter generator with CO sensor produces up to 12,000W peak and 9,000W with less than 3% THD, making it an ideal solution for home backup power even for sensitive electronics. With a traditional generator's power and the benefits of an inverter, it's the best of both worlds. Enjoy quiet operation as low as 64 dBA and Eco Mode. The heavy duty 457cc 4-Stroke OHV Westinghouse dual fuel engine can go all day or night with a runtime of up to 19 hours at 25% load on a 7.9 gallon gas tank, among the largest of inverter generators of its size. Features a cast iron sleeve, digital fuel gauge, auto low oil shutdown. A push button electric start and remote start key fob make starting the iGen12000DFc extra convenient. Outlets include transfer switch or interlock kit ready 14-50R 50A and L14-30R 30A outlets. Each can run major appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, and sump pumps along with any lights or entertainment centers at the same time on a single cord. It also has an ST Switch outlet, a GFCI duplex 20A outlet, and is parallel ready. An LED data center gives updates on fuel, voltage output, frequency, lifetime hours and maintenance, removing all guesswork. Easily portable with heavy duty, never flat wheels and foldable handle, it'll have your house, RV or jobsite powered in seconds. Includes a 3 year limited warranty and lifetime technical support backed by our nationwide Westinghouse Customer Service Network.

Review: Sturdy and solid - Features I wanted (prioritized in order), which I found on this iGen11000DFc generator: An "inverter" generator (to get THD or Total Harmonic Distortion under 3%) A "Dual Fuel" generator (to run either Propane or Gasoline) An electric start (from a battery) with "recoil" or manual start option Size: Something close to 10,000 watts (or 10KW) to easily handle any one circuit in our home (hot water heater, electric range, electric clothes dryer, etc.) Transfer switch ready (so I can "plug the house into it") Able to deliver 240 Volt circuits (required to be able to "plug the house into it") Bonus feature: The "c" in the model name for Westinghouse indicates it has a carbon monoxide shutoff feature - to shut down if carbon monoxide levels from the exhaust get dangerous around it. Packaging was great. Assembly was easy. Adding oil was made easy with supplied funnel, etc. Started it up yesterday (on propane) - took two tries to get it to start. The second try, it started but ran very rough, misfiring regularly. Let it do that for a minute or two, then shut it off. Started it again and it started right up and ran smooth. I proceeded to test it over the next 80 minutes, hooked it to our home with a 50 amp cord, and tried various circuits in the home including a heat pump, fridge, freezer, computers with monitors, TV, etc. - all worked fine. Ran the house on it for a while. My wife forgot it was on and started the electric dryer even. No issues whatsoever. The generator handled them all just fine and behaved like it was just idling to do it - it never seemed to strain or struggle. I then disconnected it from the house and started it multiple times, different ways, with the key fob, even pulling the cord (which took two pulls to start it). Every time it seemed to work just great! Downside that I saw only after reviewing the manual in detail - it says that it's not good at cold temps with the included oil (cold meaning below 23 degrees F). I want this for winter in Maine. So, I plan to change the oil out to the recommended 5W-30 synthetic oil for cold temps sometime after the burn in period - but the manual says to use the included oil until the generator is used sufficient to get it through a normal motor burn in of about 5 hours (as I understand it from reviewing the manual). Would I recommend - "yes". Bonus - it was quieter than I expected it to be. That's why my wife forgot it was even running and started the dryer in our home - she didn't even notice it was still on from inside our well-insulated home.
Review: Well built reliable and quiet! - I recently purchased the Westinghouse 11000 Peak Watt Dual Fuel Portable Inverter Generator with Remote Electric Start, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my emergency preparedness setup. Living in an area prone to power outages, I needed a reliable solution to keep my whole house running and ensure my Tesla stays charged when the grid goes down. This generator has delivered on both fronts, and I’m genuinely impressed with its performance. Setting it up was a breeze. It arrived with everything I needed—oil, a funnel, a toolkit, and a remote start key fob—so I had it up and running in no time. The remote electric start is a game-changer; I can fire it up from inside the house without trudging outside in bad weather. Plus, the dual fuel capability (gasoline or propane) gives me flexibility depending on what fuel I have on hand, which is a huge plus during emergencies when gas stations might not be operational. For whole house backup, this generator’s 11,000 peak watts and 9,000 running watts (on gasoline) have been more than enough to power my essentials. I’ve got it hooked up to a transfer switch via the L14-30R outlet, and it effortlessly keeps my refrigerator, lights, Wi-Fi, and even a window AC unit going during outages. The inverter technology ensures clean power with low THD, so I don’t have to worry about sensitive electronics getting fried. It’s not dead silent—around 64 dBA under load—but it’s manageable, especially since I park it outside away from the house. Where this generator really shines for me is charging my Tesla in a pinch. With the 50-amp 14-50R outlet, I can plug in my Tesla Mobile Connector and get a decent charge going. It’s not as fast as a dedicated Level 2 charger, of course, but at about 20-25 miles of range per hour, it’s a lifesaver when I need to keep the car operational during extended outages. I’ve tested it with both gasoline (up to 17 hours on a 7.92-gallon tank) and propane (shorter runtime but cleaner burning), and it handles the load without breaking a sweat. One thing to note: it’s not lightweight at around 187 pounds, but the wheels and handles make it portable enough to move around my property. The CO sensor adds peace of mind, especially when running it near the garage. My only minor gripe is that the fuel efficiency drops a bit under heavy loads—like when charging the Tesla and running the house simultaneously—but that’s to be expected with any generator pushing its limits. Overall, the Westinghouse 11000 Peak Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator has been a reliable workhorse for my whole house backup and Tesla charging needs. It’s powerful, versatile, and easy to use, making it a solid investment for anyone looking to stay prepared. I’d recommend it to anyone in a similar boat—especially if you’re balancing household power and EV charging during emergencies.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Nicely Built Generator!
*by T***Y on January 2, 2025*

I have had several generators over the years and this is one of the nicest ones I have owned. It is very well built with easy access panels. It only took me a few minutes to install the wheels, handle, and fill it with oil to include connecting the battery connector. It fired right up and ran very smooth and is super quiet. I appreciate the fact that it not only has a 50A twist lock plug, but it actually generates 47 amps peak which was a deciding factor in buying it. Not all generators output 50A even though they have a 50A plug. It's something to verify in the specs if you are buying one and want the 50A capacity. I also like the front panel, it is very easy to access and understand. The ECO feature is nice to have and will help to save fuel when loading is low where it drops the engine RPM's. The remote start/stop works well and I can shut the generator off from 50ft away in my house which will be handy for late evening shutdowns. It also has a pull cord for manual starting, so there is no single failure if the battery has lost its charge. Lastly, it came with a battery tender to keep the battery charged up, so there is no worrying about that. I highly recommend this generator and it is considerably cheap for it's size and features.
