The wiring is just like a normal switch on one end. You will want to make sure that you have power, neutral and ground to the switch box instead of just a switched leg (power at the light fixture instead of to the switch box with just a two wire drop to the switch). The remote switch is just a battery switch that mounts anywhere on the wall surface. I used this in my garage where we added a door to the exterior but the light switch was at the door from the house to the garage. Rewiring to add a wired 3 way was not an option.
