Now that it's buried I found out that this wire isn't rated for direct burial. It reads online here on desertcart as "low voltage." I had no reason to think it wasn't direct burial since I typed "underground landscaping wire 12v 14 gauge" in the search bar. Well, it's not direct-burial, it's speaker wire. It's not polyethylene coated, it's PVC. That means the 400 feet of wire I buried will last around 2 or three years before it rots, cracks, oxidizes and disintegrates. The wire itself is a very high quality 14 gauge wire with a thick PVC coating. I definitely recommend this wire for speakers. But don't buy this wire for underground landscape lighting.
