Any help πŸ™** A: When I received my unit the first thing I did was set it up and see if it could sew. It worked............ When I received my unit it was already set up. The bobbin was loaded with monofilament line " fishing line". All I had to do was use my own thread and followed the line that they already had to the needle. After knowing that the machine worked, Then I had to make modifications, the first thing to go was the three legged stand. It's worthless, I had to make a more stable base. Then I had to change the spool mounting system because the original was ineffective and worthless. I had to straighten out the feeding system for the thread line going through the center of the walking foot or pressure foot. First of all when you operate the machine turn the Manual drive clockwise. When you have to load the Bobbin you have to remove the shuttle. Be very careful of the position you reinsert the shuttle into the machine because if you do not return it to the exact same position you could throw off the timing. I lift the presser foot and make sure that the needle is at top dead center which in turn your Manual wheel should be at approximately 9:00. When you remove the bobbin and a Shuttle make sure that you replace it exactly the same way that you removed it. If you know someone who is mechanically inclined you should have them help you with the machine. Look on You tube ...... Many people have videos on the operation. In all regardless of how I had to modify the machine I'm glad I purchased it, because of what it does for me it's worth its weight in gold. Possibly within a couple weeks I will come back with photographs of my machine showing you and others what to look for in setting up your machine. Rick PS: I use #69 bonded nylon thread for sewing. **Q: Can wax thread be used?** A: I haven't tried sewing with wax thread yet but I see no reason why you couldn't sew with it using this machine. The machine seems to be a very versatile, then you may have to make a few adjustments while you are you learning how to operate it. I have no regrets purchasing this machine but I will tell you this, you are going to have to modify the base of the machine itself. **Q: Does it have enough clearance for hat bills so I Can it sew patches on hats?** A: I attempted to stich two pieces of 8oz (1/4 x2) leather together l, while it had the clearance it would never stich them together. I sent the first one back and just threw the second away. Both were junk and a waste of money.
