Had to bend the metal Makita clip a bit and make the bolt hole slightly larger but it works good. I did not use the supplied hardware that came with the guard but I'm sure it would have been nice too. Review: Great guard that also comes wiht the steel mounting bracket! - I used this shield to replace my original ECHO SRM-2100 guard when I modified the unit to use a 9" x 32T circular carbide tooth blade for cutting light brush in a field behind my home. Fits Ryobi (extend-it version) straight shaft trimmer perfectly. It is considerably wider than the OEM Ryobi guard which is exactly why I purchased this; areas of our property have rocks and gravel interspersed through out and was tired of pebbles being thrown back at me using the stock Ryobi guard. Used this all day yesterday (four batteries worth) and it was far more pleasant.
