As far as the flares, they're not super large flares, traditional which is fine, not a big fan of the larger ones, never have been. When hip huggers came into style in the day, the lower the hip got, the larger the bell got! I remember mine got pretty darn low... These aren't like that but they may make you feel like you could pull it off or if you are using them to get fit you might just start looking closer to that.
