I had saved concentrate from a couple trips to the desert to use upon receipt of the unit and couldn't wait to open the package from desertcart. The unit set up easily and the advertised features were very apparent. The Gold Miner worked as advertised and it was very exciting to see the little specks of gold appear in the catch cup. I have taken gold from the same area for many years and had a good idea of how much fine gold I would get from the concentrate I was going through. I am happy to report that I found far more gold than I could have imagined. Having panned out the black sand for many years I felt I was pretty good at getting all the gold from the concentrate but now know that I have missed a lot of fine gold that was hiding in the black sand. It has a 12V system. A direct drive motor that turns the pan and operates the water pump. You can operate off a 12V charger or a battery. **Q: How does it handle very fine flour gold** A: i have been finding gold in tailings from 12 mesh down to 80 mesh, if its gonna washout the itty bitty tiny stuff then i dont need this......came THAT close to buying one of these. **Q: How many watts does this draw? If I could of given it more stars I would. I originally bought a desert fox because of the name and reputation but was disappointed by the mass production and poor workmanship. The desert fox would not even function without modification also the main drive motor assembly was the mechanism was warped. I returned the desert fox garbage. Upon receiving the gold miner 1v tgp 001 I was immediately impressed with the build quality and craftsmanship. the unit appeared to be hand built and attention to detail. I would highly recommend this over the desert fox. Also I reran tailings from the desert fox and was able to recover even more gold. Things I like about the gold miner is the Micro adjuster. You can set it and forget it unlike Desert box which always seems to be changing angles if you don't pay attention all the time. The actual spiral wheel is made of a much better Quality plastic then the competitor and is bigger. The PVC framing is very solid and I do not have to worry about it moving. I also like the water control valve is made of metal instead of plastic like the desert fox's valve assembly is. Everything about the gold miner is of a much better quality. Cannot say enough about this product for $199 you cannot go wrong.
