I absolutely LOVE this backpack! After taking it on my trip, I can confidently say it earned a permanent spot in my travel lineup. The number of pockets is fantastic. I had a place for everything without digging around like I was on an archaeological expedition. The top handles made it easy to grab, and I especially loved that I could wear it as a backpack while navigating the airport. My shoulders were very thankful. I flew American Airlines, and it fit perfectly under the seat in front of me. The photos are from Main Cabin (not First Class), where I had just a little extra legroom. On my return flight, I was in standard coach, and it still fit under the seat just fine. The only difference was that, when I had the bag packed to the brim, it was a little harder to slide out and access things during the flight. My only tip: Pack anything you’ll want during the flight (headphones, snacks, charger, Kindle, etc.) right at the very top of the bag. Once it’s tucked under the seat and fully loaded, you probably won’t want to go spelunking for that granola bar hiding at the bottom. Overall, this backpack exceeded my expectations. It’s roomy, comfortable, TSA-friendly, and fit exactly as advertised. If you’re looking for a personal item that maximizes space without looking enormous, this one is a winner.
