The body and grates are made of heavy gauge stainless. All edges are folded over for rounded profile. Corner welds are nearly invisible. The body fits into the threaded adapter with an o-ring so it can be adjusted to height without having to rotate the square body. If you worked square drains in a mortar bed before, you'll understand how big an advantage this is. It comes with two grates. One is slotted with a brushed stainless finish. The other doubles as a plain brushed pan when installed cup-side down or as a tile-inset grate when installed cup-side up.
