Switches are thick and chunky, just don't forget to lock them or your toes are on the line! Putting them together was very simple (basically one cradle for each dumbbell and the dumbbells themselves). Figuring out exactly how they work (e.g., adjusting weights) was a bit more complicated, but after watching one of their videos and experimenting, it was not too hard. These are very sturdy, with the lift bar being knurled (but not sharp) and the weights lock in place with a satisfying click. They’re well balanced and easy to use. Can’t really comment on their longevity (since I just got them), but they’re made mostly of steel, with very little plastic to be seen, so they feel substantial.
