Review: Really pleased with this - I’ve just used this for the first time on a long journey by ferry and car. It worked really well on mains power in my hotel room (you can vary the temperature and fan speed when using mains power) and in the car (where it operates at maximum and can’t be changed). Half power is good enough to keep things cold and is perfectly quiet enough to sleep next to. I put some freezer blocks in before a 12 hour ferry crossing when the fridge would be switched off and to my amazement, they were still frozen solid at the end of the journey - so excellent insulation too. Thoroughly recommended if you need to keep drinks or food or medicines cold while travelling. Slightly short cables so you might need a 12V extension cable unless you have a 12V socket in your car’s boot. Alternatively it fits nicely in the front passenger footwell.

I’ve just used this for the first time on a long journey by ferry and car. It worked really well on mains power in my hotel room (you can vary the temperature and fan speed when using mains power) and in the car (where it operates at maximum and can’t be changed). Half power is good enough to keep things cold and is perfectly quiet enough to sleep next to. I put some freezer blocks in before a 12 hour ferry crossing when the fridge would be switched off and to my amazement, they were still frozen solid at the end of the journey - so excellent insulation too. Thoroughly recommended if you need to keep drinks or food or medicines cold while travelling. Slightly short cables so you might need a 12V extension cable unless you have a 12V socket in your car’s boot. Alternatively it fits nicely in the front passenger footwell.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good but not perfect.

The cooler works as described. This is a second unit (not the same make) I own. Both perform similarly. This unit is quicker to cool down to upto 20 degrees ambient than my other device. On this unit the cables are not detachable and stowage of them is fiddly to say the least. Whilst cooling can be adjusted when running off the mains supply I’m guessing for technical reasons on 12v it’s full power of nothing. For best use and for food preservation I recommend getting a min/max thermonuclear.
