I wash in cold and dry on medium in the dryer, and it shrank so much that I'm considering reordering TWO sizes up. I like my robes roomy, and even though my robe was big and roomy, it shrank so much that I can barely bend over without it riding up in the back. It's a great robe, but size up. **Q: Why is the belt sewn on the side and one side of the belt is short and the other side is long??? Why isn't the belt sewn in mid back w/even sides?** A: It is actually good that the belt is sewn into the seam on one side. It will cause less damage with wear and is anchored into a seam. Unfortunately no where locally could I find a cotton robe. Replacing a well worn and loved robe has been difficult. Although this is not 100% what I was looking for I am overall very happy with the quality texture and comfort of this robe. I do wish the material was a little stretcher. I put it in the washing machine immediately and tossed it in the dryer. I did not find any shrinkage or discoloration. It is soft and lighter weight, which is what I wanted as I live in a tropical climate. I would recommend this, and believe the size is true. The only thing that I have found to be disappointing is the hole in the left pocket.
