It says you need two people to assemble, you can easily do it yourself! The only part that two people felt more necessary was when you lift it. This cabinet is FANTASTIC. The color is a muted oak, with no hint of orange. It took about 2 hours for two of us to put together, which is exactly what the instructions said it would take. Not difficult, just time consuming. It does have a thin back for the 2 middle shelves as well as the lower cabinet. The arch itself on the top is thin too. But it is sturdy if you take your time with it, which makes the value of what I paid worth it. If you are looking to fill a grand room or vaulted ceiling entrance area, the height might not be there for you. For me, it fits perfectly where I wanted it. What a beautiful statement piece! Eeee!
