I’d say no though. I got these to fold into fun shapes (like bunnies for Easter) and was super annoyed to find they are SO slippery and don’t hold any shape on their own. **Q: Do these napkins absorb well?** A: These napkins are polyester, which is considered "waterproof". If you want napkins to soak up liquid, I suggest you order napkins made of a natural fabric like cotton or linen. **Q: I’m interested in the navy blue.....I don’t want a dark navy. This looks closer to an old world navy....is that correct or is the blue really dark?** A: It is really dark **Q: Has anyone tried personalizing with iron-transfers?** A: Yes I did. They were a little hard to work with. Hard to explain they have a bit of a wax like texture to them. I would reccomend getting more of a matte finish cloths. Or if you choose these use good quality iron transfers like Avery. (1) The are nicer than having paper napkins (even the holiday design napkins), (2) my daughter displayed them in a "simple fold" design for our family **I'm confident that she will use a more "high-end" design for her catering clients, (3) they had a soft feel to them, (4) It was easy to clear the table and put them in the washing machine **my daughter immediately washed her-I didn't hear any complaints; so I assumed that they washed nicely. These would an upgraded decor on a formal set table (I keep my table set year around-I change the color of the setting depending on the season), wedding gift, housewarming gift, hope chest gift.
