There is just enough sparkle on it to make it special, but with an understated youthful appeal. The skirt is not overly puffy or full, but is full enough to give the dress intrigue. I had to steam it and fluff it first because it became quite wrinkled and flat during shipping. I do not recommend ironing it with a traditional iron unless you carefully protect the fabric. The fit was true to size. I ordered a size 2 for a thin but athletically built teen (gymnast), 115 lbs. and 5'3".
