So I did some research and found out about slippery elm. The reviews were great and I have to say, I totally agree! To be fair, i love and respect my vet. So I am doing the best of both worlds by giving him the prescribed medication only one time a day and giving the slippery elm in place of it the other time. My dog is doing great and seems to not mind the maple smelling flavor of the se. I feel good about giving my dog something natural versus another synthetic medication.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Ive read slipper elm must be given 2 hours before or after a meal otherwise it can block nutrient absorption .Why do the directions say otherwise?**
A: I used Slippery Elm Bark for a dog with collapse trachea. A vet never mentioned we needed to give 2 hrs before or after meal. We mixed in honey after we boiled the SEB & took it off the stove burner. This was our purpose in giving it to our dog.

**Q: Can this be fed to cats?**
A: I checked my can that looks like this and no where does it say 'can be used for cats'.  It only talks about dogs. Hope this helps!

**Q: Where is this product sourced from?**
A: I can only tell you that it is manufactured in White House, TN and the label reads that it is 100% Slippery Elm Bark powder.  There is nothing on the label to indicate from where it is sourced.

**Q: Does this come with a measuring cup? If not, what is the measurement for administering?**
A: It comes with a small scoop that it not marked.  I use about half a scoop for my dog that weighs 11.5 lbs.

This product is really helpful. Mixed with a little wet food or cream cheese it forms a slippery paste that coats the throat and stops the coughing. It is so slippery that it is hard to wash off fingers. All good:-)
