Good value but latch feature is not ideal for my use. *by J***W on March 11, 2024* In caretaking for an older family member, I bought this to help my own back in the event of a fall. If I'm by myself, this product should help me be able to raise someone off the floor, then lift with leverage and transfer them back into their wheelchair. Other lifts seem to be very costly. For uses below 300 pounds, this lift is a decent option considering the price, portability, and ease of use. My one issue with the design is related to how I use the lift. At least on my unit, the actuator/cylinder becomes unlatched from the base "hook lock" when the seat is fully lowered. Thus, I need to keep the seat raised about an inch or so from the bottom. I cannot fully lower the seat because the chair wants to swing open (from becoming unlatched).
