The Prospect Set is designed specifically for youth players up to age 12 with hat sizes no larger than size 7 (22 inches). Players with fitted hat sizes over size 7, no matter the age, should use the SST Pro X Head Guards, which provide an additional area of protective coverage. Players in leagues age 13+ should also use the SST Pro X Head Guards; built for higher game and potential impact speeds. To find the correct SST Head Guard size for your player, simply measure the total length of the head, in inches, all the way around the skull. Then, divide that number by 3.14. That will give you your player’s fitted hat size. Once you have your player’s fitted hat size, refer to the following sizing guidlines: Sizing Chart: Hat size: Up to Size 7- SST Prospect Set, Size 7 to 7-¼- SST Pro X Small Set, Size 7-¼ to 7-½- SST Pro X Medium Set, Size 7-⅝ and above- SST Pro X Large Set. Sizes are approximate and meant to provide a close estimate. Every head is a different shape and size, so if your player’s needs differ from the chart, we will gladly provide a no cost to you exchange.
