I wanted to see how the iron held up to quite a bit of use before reviewing.I really like the quality of this iron. My husband and I iron our clothes daily, sometimes our daughter too. The sole plate is really nice; it glides smoothly over the fabrics. It has a nice weight to it and has a pleasant beep to let you know that the iron is shutting off. It has great steam output with the blast button. I believe the water capacity is much larger in this Viasonic than the Shark brand iron that I owned prior to this one. My Shark iron had started leaking water after 5 years of use. I had not heard of this brand but am very pleased with the quality. It looks like it’s very well made, the controls are easy to use, and it’s not too heavy. There are a few minor things I don’t like. First, the printing on the dial is almost the same color as the dial itself, so it’s very hard to read. Second, the housing around the dial is fairly dark, so it’s a little hard to see the water level. Third, the steam holes go around the entire edge, but there are none in the middle. If you move the iron around, then it’s not a problem, but sometimes I find that for small areas, I have to adjust the position to get the steam to go over it.
