The insulated body holds cold or hot for 2-3 hours. The lids are dishwasher safe. The only drawback is that the body is hand wash only. They are very sturdy. These mugs are gorgeous but even better than that, they absolutely will not spill if you knock them over. They even have a lock on the lid in case you're putting it in a bag for on the go in case the autoseal mechanism accidentally gets pushed in. When I first got them, I thought I had to open and close the lock to keep it from spilling but you do not have to do that at all. The grip is great and I haven't put any hot liquids in it yet, but it keeps your drinks icy cold for hours. Well worth the money.
