A: You can, but it's going to cut the plastic a little. Over time they would look pretty bad

**Q: Can you use a steak knife without damaging the surface?**
A: No

**Q: Will these stain with red sauce/ tomato sauce?**
A: Yes, these dishes will stain easily.  Don’t use anything with tomatoe sauce.

**Q: Do all pieces stack easily in the dishwasher? Sometimes bowls are too deep and take up too much space, and plates have too much of a curve to fit.**
A: Bowls easily fit on top dishwasher rack, very happy with these dishes!
