669 Company Metal Heavy Duty Shop Scoop, 14", Red

My kids keep accidentally breaking plastic dustpans so we started switching over to metal. We've found they are tempted to use the typical-handled metal ones as swords and shields while working, though. That sword-like handle and weight is simply too tempting, but I fear it is the children who will next end up broken instead of the dustpans. And they tip the typical-shaped dustpans while carrying, dumping out the contents, to boot. Looking for an alternative, we hit upon this. It is perfect!Sturdy enough to withstand their several-times-a-day use, small enough to fit into a typical household and to be carried without spilling by toddlers to teens, the design intuitively keeps everything level to tilted backward meaning all the dirt and trash gets to the trashcan. And there hasn't been a single creative weaponry attempt yet! They all give it a 2 thumbs up and my clean floors, unscathed children, and it's adorable red mean I do as well.I wish the handle were the faux wood pictured as mine is a medium-dark grey that's sturdy but not a particularly beautiful shade. It isn't enough to detract from the design, though, so I don't mention it to discourage others considering it for home use, only to give an idea of what to expect. I'd happily recommend this compact, ergonomic, intuitive, beautiful, sturdy metal design for general household use, and think it is more accessible to those with physical limitations, children, and the elderly. (The small toddler does not struggle in the least to use it correctly.)One feature I was pleased to note is a D-ring at the back of the handle to allow for easy hanging, which I included in an attached image. (The finish is not scratched but reflecting the shiny D-ring. I will update if chipping or scratching of the color later becomes a problem. On Day 2, there is no hint of issues.)

Best outdoor dust pan you can buy! Awesome. One of those things you don't realize until you use it, how brilliant the design is. It takes a heap of abuse from me and absolutely no issues.

No complaints. It works exactly as expected, and a good size for moderate messes with a moderate sized sweeper head. I often use it with my push broom even though not as wide as a push broom, but its a good size for not overloading when picking up heavier debris.

Now this is a shop pan - I’ve had a wood-shop for over 30 years and as simple as this item is....I’m impressed. Very comfortable to use, stays in place as you sweep into the pan, everything slides over the edge and into the scoop, wow, what a concept. Hats off to all involved making this...!Look no further, this is a simple top shelf product...

I wish the handle was wood. Bought this to go next to my fireplace so I wanted something nice to look at. Otherwise, well built and totally functional

As a contractor finding a dust pan that can take all the abuse that my trade can dish out is a rare thing. My old pan was smashed by a 4" cast iron pipe that the plumbers dropped on it within its 1st month. I took a little time to straighten it out and it has worked well for over 10 years. No I did not retire the old pan after getting a new one. The nice thing is it will hold the debris in when you tip it up. The handle on top makes for carrying heavier loads much easier than the pans with the handle on the back.

Handle was loose right out of box. I wiggled around on it and the 1 screw holding it all together started pulling out. A bit more and it all fell apart. So I don’t know how they think this is going to hold up to any kind of use unless your sweeping up feathers!

Shop scoop works great.I removed the plastic handle and back drilled through the original screw hole on the rear and attached a wooden broom handle to make it more convenient.
