It isn't a complete black-out, but it has stopped him from going berserk. I found the product very easy to put on the fence. I was absolutely thrilled to find zip ties included!! Yea! The material seems durable enough, so I guess we'll see. But this has done exactly what I needed it to do, and it was super simple to attach to our chain link fencing. I attached it by myself with no problems.
