You only slowly turn it away from the pump handle to lower the patient. I lifted my wife off the floor and placed her on her bed with ease. The was one bolt in the main column that was too big for the holes. I couldn’t get the bolt through the hole. Had to purchase an hex M8 x 75 bolt, washers and lock nut that worked fine. Overall it functions nice. It is very heavy. To be portable you would have to partially disassemble it and reassemble which is a chore. So it is not portable in the true sense. Price was right for the item. Thanks to the manufacturer for a fine product.
