If you slowly pull an unwind them at the same time they will not break only the cover on the tube fall off. So don't pull hard on them. An then using the thumb tack by it's self put them where you want. I have 6 all together put up 2 in the kitchen, 2 in the dinning room and 2 in the living room an each 1 started catching flies immediately.
