This pet door is suitable for interior and exterior doors and screens up to 0.6" thick to allow your four-legged friend the freedom he or she needs for happiness and health. The four way controlled access allows your pet open access with magnetic closure to ensure the door shuts but doesn't lock. You can also change the access to locked, entrance only, and exit only. Water bottle for size reference. - In remodeling our house, we needed our cat to be able to easily access different areas so we could keep the old doors closed because of the temperature differences. It wasn't bad to install. It does work well. Air still leaks some, but is way better than keeping the doors opened. It would be ok on an outside door, but be aware it doesnt seal completely. It has a magnet at the bottom that keeps the door in the closed position. I would purchase again. The lock works, but I have not used it. Don't want to freak out my skittish cat. She likes to do zoomies through them.
Review: Works on Window Screens - With a slightly different installation process this will work on a window screen. We wanted something that would not be an eyesore in our loft office space. So clear plastic was highly preferred. Our cats like to go in and out of that window for their evening prowling but we didn't want flies coming in this summer, so the screen needs to stay on and not get tore up by persistent cats. I've included photos of us installing. My husband outside me inside, we screwed it in place with two of the three screws. Then put slices in the screen to allow it the slack needed to fit together, front and back. It telescopes together. Then he installed the third screw and tightened the other two screws. Last, trimmed off the excess screen so the door swings freely. Both of our cats are fans! It did take the 5 year old, big brother more time to trust it wasnt going to smack him. Little brother, 1 year old, has no fear. Also, the window still closes after installation, which we tested BEFORE installing.

It does work well. Air still leaks some, but is way better than keeping the doors opened. It would be ok on an outside door, but be aware it doesnt seal completely. It has a magnet at the bottom that keeps the door in the closed position. I would purchase again. The lock works, but I have not used it. Don't want to freak out my skittish cat.
