The Magic Bullet is designed to handle hard-to-chop foods, but after long periods of use, the motor in the base gear can wear out. INSTRUCTIONS TO REPLACE: For blade gear Gears are reverse threaded. To remove broken piece, cover the blade with protective cloth and hold it steady. Turn rubber gear CLOCKWISE to remove it. Use pliers or vise grips on rubber gear. For base gear Turn the power base on its side. Place a small flat screw driver in a hole on the bottom of the power base. This will brace the motor in place. The base pieces look a little different than the one that was on my magic bullet because the piece that came on it had sides around it and these don't but they work just fine. These are as described and I am happy with them. I added a picture of the old base gear to see the difference.
