Happens to me quite a bit. There's an excessive flow regulator on new propane cylinders as a safety feature. If you turn the propane cylinder up high and then the burners on quickly you can hear a metallic click from the cylinder like a pin dropping. That's the regulator slowing the flow of propane. 1) Shut everything off. 2) open the cylinder a 1/4 open. 3) open and light the first burner. 4) turn the first burner to low. 5) repeat 3 and 4 for each burner. 6) gently turn burners one at a time to the desired setting. I’m surprised some of the reviews weren’t that good but mine arrived in great shape. I was concerned with it while waiting to see it, but no issues or complaints for me and I’ve had it some time now. I live in Brooklyn, where the climate varies depending on the season. I have a protective outer cover that protects this lid and griddle itself. I fear rust but so far none. The thickness feels just right, nice and sturdy, not flimsy at all. I have a silicone liner that wraps around the edges of my blackstone, and this lid fits perfect and snug with it, further helping to keep moisture out. Neither the cover nor this lid failed me yet after some heavy rains, wind and weather.
