Husband drilled the pilot holes a little bit bigger and drilled to countersink the screw heads. He used wood glue when assembling. Paint was a little rough, but he sanded and repainted so that didn't matter. He filled the screwheads with paintable silicone to help prevent rusting. It all went together fairly easily and seems pretty sturdy. Standard frames fit with no problem. Typically, there is not much action on the outside frames, so we weren't expecting to see much. However, this hive has filled this box all the way to the outside frames, so we are able to see brood as well as honey stores. Pretty cool! So glad I picked up this hive box with observation window. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ nice box *by E***N on May 29, 2025* Easy to put together and very solid. The window is a nice touch, but the bees generally don't go to the outside frames unless the box is very full, so I'm not sure how helpful it will be. But I learned that when it is full of honey it will weigh about 80 lbs! WOW! The box was simple enough to put together. I wasn't wowed by it, nor was I let down. It seems average quality, but like I said, I'm learning.
