The filter is a little thinner than other filters I have used, so the standard 58mm Nikon lens cap just about manages a secure fit but doesn't fully seat itself. So far this hasn't been a problem and I don't anticipate it becoming one either. The filter ring is silver-grey in colour so it does stand out against the usual all-black finish of most camera gear.
