Review: Excellent - Excellent lead and very strong
Review: It does the job but level of success depends on the dog's personality - I have a husky x malamute (27-30kg) and was unsure whether this lead would be strong enough. However I've had it a few months now with no problems (I am very strict about him not charging at full speed to the end of it though). It has allowed him a bit more freedom to sniff and explore and makes walks a little easier. Plus sides: tape retracts well and swiftly, sturdy, holds up to daily use. Down sides: If it's raining pulling it all out of the holder and locking it and attempting to hang it near the radiator for it to dry after walks is a real pain (I now use a normal lead in the rain), if you need to retract, lock or unlock it quickly it can be a bit of a fiddle - if your dog pulls even slightly the lock will not release until he/she is not pulling against the mechanism - so I find myself having to pull back to slacken the lead while pressing the trigger to release it. If your dog isn't good passing other dogs the narrow tape can be a bit lethal to hold if you don't get it reeled in in time - safer to hold the collar in those instances which isn't ideal but better than hurting your hands if the dog pulls on the tape. All in all I'm happy with the buy - if you have an easy going dog that's not an idiot like mine it'll be great for you. If you have one that isn't blessed with calmness or great intelligence you can find ways to make it work so that in safer areas they have that little bit more freedom (which has helped significantly reduce pulling in our case). My partner still prefers to use a bungee lead when walking him - it gives much better protection against sharp tugs. I prefer this so I don't have to stop every ten to fifteen yards every time the dog wants a pee. He can just fall behind then catch up when he's ready. It's worth adding to the kit so you have the option but it's by no means a permanent replacement for other styles of leads for us. However I would replace it if it broke - which means I've found it a useful bit of kit.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Problem with lead

I bought a retractable dog lead from this company in July 2023. It worked well for 6 months, then it started playing up. It wouldn't always retract fully. It was an intermittent fault at first but became more frequent, until by April 2024 there was about a metre of lead hanging out that refused to retract. I contacted the company who offered me a refund or a replacement. I opted for a replacement. It took a while to arrive, but eventually the company did provide me with a new lead, free of charge. This one looks better. The lead seems to be made out of a different material, it looks more like nylon or something similarly synthetic. At any rate, it's strong, comfortable to hold, easy to operate and it works well, so let's hope the problem is solved.
