Because of the way it folds down it is not adjustable but having used it I can say that is not a problem. I am experiencing hip and knee issues and using this pole allowed me to enjoy a walk without stressing my joints so I am very happy with it. I use a very small backpack and it fits in there easily and weighs less than my lunch!I was going to get two poles but like taking pictures while walking and having only one hand occupied worked for me. Maybe if you have more fragile joints you would benefit from using two together. Perhaps in the future I will get another.For serious walkers a pair could be an advantage.
