This model and the 5500-2 look identical, with just a slight colour change but it works exactly the same. Only difference being, is that this one comes with 4 carbon filters (1 per quarter) compared to only 1 (change yearly) in the other model. Very easy to setup. Was up and running in no time at all. Settings were easy to understand and straightforward. I left it on automatic and the indicator went straight to red. After an hour or so, it changed to blue but already, I could tell the difference in air quality. And for its size, really good at covering my small bedroom. So now, I one in my living room and another in my bedroom. What is really impressive, is that, it was on fan 3 and I switched off my smart living room light and it went into sleep mode - all lights off and fan on one. It is very quiet and should be able to sleep soundly. As for odour removal, the air smells fresh with no lingering stagnant air. In a nutshell. This is an excellent Air Purifier and I am so glad that I purchased this one. Again, specifically for the PlasmaWave. However, I have only found one annoying issue, just like the other but unable to update the other, as I had already done so with something else. If you put it on timer mode. When it finishes, it plays a little tune to you, just like it does when you switch it on. That isn’t annoying but what is, if you have it on night mode and timer mode. It still plays the tune and wakes you up. Not a very good sleep mode. So, best to just leave it on all night if you want an undisturbed sleep. Would I recommend it? It's hilarious but I added a video of it detecting my fart and it upping the fan clearance speed. It's light enough to move room to room with handles, but sturdy enough to feel safe. The sleep function is so quiet, I hoped it was louder for white noise. I have it in the bedroom and giggle every time it filters my farts! The light bar and noisier fan functions only run during significant lighting in the room such as my led light or natural window light. It also doesn't react with burning incense which I'm happy with, it doesn't clear smells like sweat or incense but not had a smelly fart to notice! It also triggers the higher clearance when using my pre-injection alcohol wipes so anything specifically air/gas based it clears. I didn't think it collected much dust but out of curiosity I just opened it to take a picture, at first nothing obvious until I unclipped the 1st screen then all the dust shook out! After about 40 days of use on auto, more dust than I expected, happy it's not settling on my furniture!
