First, it's very handy to have when you need something low to stand on that isn't a ladder. But it's not very light. It's considerably heavier than a 4' ladder. I bought it to use at work, but ended up leaving it at home since it was easier to just grab a 4' ladder when I needed a step. I have used it frequently at home. But if you are not careful, you can seriously injure yourself. There are some very sharp edges underneath, right where you would grab it to move it around. If you slide your fingers through the slots in the middle to simply lift the platform, the edges underneath can cut your hand severely. It arrived with extra rubber caps for the legs that don't fit and a pair of white cloth gloves. Not sure why.
