At this length didn’t need to join it to the existing cable.Hint: When you are ready to use it don’t just pull the coil of cable apart as you will end up with hundreds of twists and it won’t lay flat. Instead hold the coil when it’s still rolled up, find the end and with help rotate the coil in your hand while someone pulls the end out. There, I said it. There will be many different opinions on whether or not this cable can be used to move original Virgin equipment. I balked at the £99 call out charge to get out router moved to a more central location in the house so took a gamble on this much cheaper alternative. I have successfully moved our router from right beside the wall box in the corner of our property, to right smack dab in the middle of the house. We now get >180Mbps throughout the house and i have noticed zero issues. Virgin Media wanted £99 to do this, saying they use ‘special cable’ for their super fast fibre. At the time I was getting around 216mbps when doing speed tests. I decided to use this cable and do it myself. A simple 5 minute job, as the cable comes with everything just ready to go. I’ve checked daily since the installing with the new cable and still get the same speeds as I did before.
