We were hoping to also use the film for our smaller hall and landing windows as well, which look onto the side of another building.The roll looked very professional when it arrived. It came sealed and well protected in a good box, and was wrapped around a plastic roll. There were application instructions inside the box, which very slightly overwhelming, but very helpful. Unfortunately, the film was wrapped around the roll back to front (according to instructions), so this cause some confusion initially, but we were able to persevere.Our conservatory windows were quite large to cover at 72cm by 92cm, and we have not tried to apply window film before. We really struggled with the application process at first, and wasted two metres of the film by ripping the outer edges when we were trying to trim it on our window (the final stage). We eventually watched a youtube video, picked up a couple of tricks, and managed to cover the three windows with the remaining film. This wasn’t a great job, but the frosting effect itself is very good, and looks nice on our windows.We have a cat and a dog, so struggled a lot with rogue hairs under the film during the application process. Although the instructions do recommend a dust free environment, it seemed almost impossible for us to achieve. Any dust or hairs under the film were very visible so had to be removed for a good, non bubbled effect. We finally managed to trim the edges by using our squeegee to straighten the edges and steady the blade so we could trim the edges neatly. That said, we did not make a perfect job, and I think this is evident from the pictures.We also used the straight edge of the roll on one side of the window so that we only had to cut three sides. This helped a great deal with the outer windows which were difficult to trim because of the position.Overall, I think this is a really great product and works really well for added privacy. I think if we ever install on a large surface area again though, we may well just invest in a professional fitting service! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Really good film *by B***B on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 April 2023* Easy to cut and apply just use a sharp knife and lots of of water, really good privacy as you can’t see through even if someone is stood directly the glass ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars which I've done and it looks very good, like it was done by a professional *by W***X on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2016* This arrived before the due date, which is always a bonus.I could not wait to get this up, which I've done and it looks very good, like it was done by a professional.It has adhesive on one side, but if you were to put this up, using only the adhesive side and no soapy water, you will find it very difficult to do, and a lot of air bubbles, which you would never be able to get rid of. You must spray the soapy water on the adhesive side, don't worry you won't ruin it's ability to stick to the window.Iv'e had experience with putting something similar on my bathroom windows, same principle just different supplier.After cleaning the area where you'll be putting the plastic, you must spray that same area with the soapy water, and in my case, for good measure I also spray the adhesive side, with the soap solution. And then you apply this to the window, move it about until you get in the the position you want. And because you have sprayed both the window and the plastic it will move around quite easily.Then you need a squeegee, (this will give you the best results) to remove the air bubbles and excess water. You will also need a cloth of some kind to catch the excess water while using the squeegee, and to wipe the frame as you go.Keep doing this until you have removed a fair bit of the water, and air bubbles You won't get a perfect result yet at this point, until you go around the frame and cut off the excess plastic, and do your fine tune cutting.You'll need a Stanley knife or a scalpel for this, whatever you use it must have a really sharp thin blade, to get the perfect cut.Take a ruler, any type, and put it right up against the rubber seal of the frame, now take your knife and cut as close to the rubber seal as you can get, being careful not to cut into the rubber itself, and slowly cut downwards. All the while moving the ruler with the blade as you cut. Continue doing this until you've done all the cutting around the frame.You can do fine cuts afterwards with the ruler and knife, to tidy up any little bits here and there.
