I had a nightmare problem with penetrating damp. I removed the existing plaster back to brick, left it to dry for a couple of weeks, treated the walls with the dry zone primer/stablizer and used the dry zone adhesive to fix plasterboard. It was around a bay window and although I bought the dry zone fixing plugs they were not required. 2 years later the wall is completely dry in all the areas I treated using this method. I investigated all sorts of tanking etc but this seemed the easiest solution and it works..
