My only reason for buying the item was to test the moisture in the soil. As far as the moisture differences in what this or that plant requires, I just Google it and research a little. **Q: I'm not sure i understand the guide on the back of the box for each plant. is it suggesting what the moisture should be for each plant? please elabor** A: As long as the needle on the tester goes up half way at least, then there is plenty of moisture. There is no set number for how much moister each type of plant needs.
