The Producer: The history of Cantine De Palma dates back to the 1940’s when the De Palma family took advantage of the rich volcanic soils of Campania and all it has to offer. Influenced by the ancient history that is deeply rooted in Campania, the region grows distinct and intriguing grapes, producing some of the highest quality wines in Italy. .The Grape:First cultivated in Ancient Greece, Aglianico was bought to Southern Italy by Greek settlers in 800BC. Until the 15th century, it was referred to as ‘Ellenico’- the local term for ‘Greek’ Aglianico wines possess powerful tannins and high acidity which offers exceptional aging potential. Classed as one of Italy’s hidden gems, Aglianico represents Italy’s finest and most historically rich red wines.
