Wasn't until installing I realized it does not replace the flange assembly that comes with the garbage disposal. So don't spend time removing the old thinking this will replace it. As others mentioned, this flange is solely for looks. It fits over the top of the stainless steel flange. It's not long enough and doesn't have the appropriate grooves. I haven't experienced water puddling but it's easy to remove, clean and replace if needed.
